The Domaine was established in 2013 when Alexandre Burgaud had the opportunity to purchase some vineyards which has been in his family for several generations. It currently covers 12 hectares on the famous ‘bluestone’ granitic soils of Lantignié, a small communal village which is part of Beaujolais-Village appellation. The small village is located 10 km west of Morgon, close to Régnie and although did not earn its own Cru yet, it’s been long regarded as being the best location in the Beaujolais-Village appellation by winegrowers, sommeliers and Beaujolais wine lovers. The vineyards are protected by the foothills of the Massif Central from Atlantic Ocean’s influence, climate is temperate with Mediterranean influence. The vines age ranges from 45 years to over a century old. Alexandre also purchased a 1-hectare plot planted with 70 years old vines in the Cru village of Brouilly. Burgaud work the land respecting the terroirs and traditions of his ancestors, with minimal intervention. Vinification is done following the traditional semi-carbonic maceration and fermentation.
