Domaine Romain Pertuzot
This charming Domaine is created by Romain Pertuzot and his wife Evelyne in 2008 from a family vineyard, located on the Chorey-lès-Beaune in the heart of Burgundy, 3 kms from Beaune. This village lies on the lower slopes of the Côte de Beaune. Its near neighbors are Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-lès-Beaune. The Domaine not only produce wines from Chorey, but also, Aloxe-Corton and Savigny.
This young, dynamic couple manage 2 hectares of vines with their three children. Romain trained in his youth at the reputable Domaine Dujac in Morey St. Denis, and Mouton Rothschild. He is now splitting his time between working as a cellar master alongside Nadine Gublin of Domaine Jacques Prieur, and his own vineyards. Evelyne helps him when she is not busy holding a position of accountant for a wine distributor. They work hand in hand to produce blooming wines full of emotion. Each parcel of vineyard is worked very meticulously, with the utmost natural approach and taking into account the lunar cycles. Tillage is achieved only by plowing and without the use of any chemical herbicides. The yield of each vineyard is controlled manually in order to get full grape expression with optimum maturity, harvest is done by hand. Their goal is to produce Bourgogne wines, expressing the best original characteristics of their terroir and grape variety.
